UNCRUISE DISEMBARKATION

All UnCruise ships accommodate 90 or less guests. As you might imagine, disembarkation is super easy. But first we enjoyed an equally delicious breakfast as we have enjoyed all week. Next it was tough to say goodbye to our crew who served us so wonderfully. And to bid farewell to our stupendous, amazing Adventure Crew, who organized, assisted and accompanied us often on our on and off ship adventures.

However, all good things apparently do come to an end. As we exited the ship our crew stood above on the deck of the Legacy, waving farewell to us.

UNCRUISE FINAL THOUGHTS

This was our first experience with UnCruise, but not our first Alaska cruise or tour. By far, this was our best cruise Alaska experience. No crowds, a relaxed caring environment with literally everything included - all activities and beverages (alcohol included). As I stated earlier - on big ships you SEE Alaska. On UnCruise we EXPERIENCED Alaska.

We skiffed, kayaked, hiked and bushwhacked, viewed bears up close, whales, held kelp and Sea Cucumbers not only in nearly exclusive coves and bays but for 2 full days within the pristine Glacier Bay National Park. We even spent a night anchored in Glacier Bay. You will not do any of this on a big ship. Beware: with a crew as large as UnCruise provides for 22-90 guests per ship the price tag is bigger than big ships. If it fits in your budget you will not be disappointed.

We highly recommend UnCruise for Alaska - or wherever they cruise!

SITKA FOR THE DAY

Disembarking in Sitka gave us the opportunity to explore a unique Alaska port we have been very interested in. Set on the breathtaking Sitka Sound with snow-capped mountains rising around the city and featuring Russian-inspired architecture Sitka is a gorgeous setting.

There are so many optional activities available in Sitka including flightseeing, scenic kayaking, major fishing, cedar pole excursions, native tribal shows, or just relaxing walks through the inspiring town. Two major Sitka attractions are the Fortress of the Bears and the Alaska Raptor Center

We certainly appreciated our time in Sitka from the harbor, historic churches, diverse shops, history, and the amazing Castle Hill panoramic views of Sitka, the surrounding mountains and Sitka Sound

And the views flying out of Sitka are spectacular!
