The 4,000 square foot Excellence El Carmen air conditioned fitness center is fully equipped with exercise equipment, free weights, treadmills, life-cycles and step machines; plus daily classes in yoga, pilates and aerobics.

Swimming Pools and Beach

Excellence El Carmen has 23 swimming pools and a series of scenic, lazy river pools throughout the resort, circling The Lobster House. In all, there is a total of 79,000 square feet of pool water. You will also find 9 outdoor hot water Jacuzzis with 7 of those in the Excellence Club section. There are several pool area bars and swim-up bars as well as waiters who will personally take and deliver your drink orders.

The beach at Excellence El Carmen is what you expect in an area as acclaimed for its beaches as Punta Cana; soft white sand and the ability to walk uninterrupted for miles. I did. On the beach there are ample cushioned adjustable loungers and tables for drinks, and a plethora of palapas for shade (included). The wait staff comes around somewhat regularly to take your drink order. However that service is noticeably better in the Excellence Club sections. But beach bars are nearby and no one seemed to mind taking for a few steps for a premium drink.

Entertainment

Excellence does a great job with nighttime entertainment, and Excellence El Carmen is no exception. Their nightly shows are excellent. A disco is open nightly until 1 AM.
