The 3,500 square foot Excellence Playa Mujeres air conditioned fitness center is fully equipped with exercise equipment, treadmills, life-cycles and step machines; plus daily classes in yoga and aerobics.

Swimming Pools and Beach

Excellence Playa Mujeres has 7 swimming pools and a series of scenic, lazy river pools throughout the resort, circling the spa, The Lobster House and The Grill. 4 of the pools are heated during winter months, and 2 of those are in the Excellence Club section. In all, there is a total of 55,500 square feet of pool water. You will also find 4 outdoor hot water Jacuzzis with 2 of those in the Excellence Club section. Plus, there are 5 pool-integrated whirlpools. All around the main and lazy river pools you have access to loungers and beach beds, plus mats for floating around the lazy river at your leisure. There are several pool area bars and swim-up bars as well as waiters who will personally take and deliver your drink orders.

The beach at Excellence Playa Mujeres is everything our clients ask for; soft white sand and the ability to walk uninterrupted for miles. I did. I walked 45 minutes in one direction just before sunset with favorite tunes in my ears, without having to dodge a single obstacle or rock. Once you get past the hotel and country club there are no other buildings. On the beach there are ample cushioned adjustable loungers and tables for drinks, and a plethora of palapas for shade (included). And for a real bonus the wait staff comes around regularly to take your drink order. How many resorts actually do that? Not many we can assure you.
